Okeechobee Mudfest: “If you like muddin’ this is the place to be”

Among other things, Okeechobee is home to a 250 acre patch of land, 70 acres of which are dedicated to a massive mud hole in the middle of the grounds. And “If you like muddin’, if you like dirt ridin’, this is the place to be,” says Pat Bolling of Pompano.
Those 70 acres are home to Okeechobee Mudfest, billed as the “World’s Largest Mud Party.” The event drew more than 8,000 mud-crazed fans earlier this year, says Mudfest organizer Debra Sales. And the party begins anew February 8, 2013. For information about the weekend’s activities, go here.
